If you want to steer away from the traditional wedding shower, gather the bride’s best girlfriends and throw a lingerie shower to expand the bride’s lingerie wardrobe.  Throwing a lingerie shower is a good way to get the bride excited about exchanging vows and the honey moon! Here are some tips to make sure that the shower is one to remember.

First, decide on a location. You can have the shower anywhere from your home, a private party room at the bride’s favorite restaurant or a private party room at a lounge. Invite the bride’s closest friends since this is an intimate party. Have fun with the invitations and accent them with lace and satin to give them a sensual feel. Carry the color scheme from the invitations to the shower and make sure they are the bride’s favorite colors. Fill the room with the bride’s favorite flowers,  ribbons and bows. You can put a spin on the party by setting a dress code. For example, wear a little black dress or something with lace.

When it comes to games, get creative! Create a crossword puzzle of lingerie items and reward the winner with a diamond shaped paperweight. You can also play Hot Potato for grown-ups. Simply place a piece of lingerie in a brown paper bag, play the bride’s favorite music and pass the bag around until the music is stopped, whoever is left holding the bag has to wear the item inside for the duration of the shower. For an adventurous bride, hire a dancer to teach the bride and her friends belly dance lessons or a strip tease. If you don’t want to hire anyone, purchase an exotic dance video and have the party follow along.  You can also put on the bride’s favorite music and have each guest teach the bride their favorite moves.

Not at a restaurant or lounge? Try serving sensual deserts such as chocolate, strawberries, fruits dipped in chocolate and lots of champagne, in addition you can also have guests bring the bride’s favorite foods. 

 Add comedy to the shower by bringing a piece of satin or lace, have the party split into two teams and have each team create a sexy night gown for the bride. Whoever wins this challenge, the bride must wear whatever the team created. You can also have a dance contest; reward the winner with a cosmopolitan jewelry pouch.

Add more fun to the shower by bringing back your teenage years and play truth or dare. To make the bride and her guests feel good, hire a masseuse to give everyone a good rubdown and offer tips on how to give massages to their significant others. Suggest that the party tip the masseuse. You can also try hiring a manicurist and pedicurist to pamper the bride and her guests for relaxtion.

Test the guests on their story-telling skills. Grab a sheet of paper, have a person write down a sentence, fold their sentence down so that the next person cannot see it and pass it along and repeat. Once the last person has written their sentence, have the host read the story out loud. This is great for a good laugh.

You can also get creative. Try going to an arts and crafts store. Purchase unscented lotion and different scents or massage oils and containers and have everyone create their own lotion, give it a name and present it to the bride-to-be, whichever one she likes best is the winner. You can also offer for the guests to take home their scented creations. Send the guests off with a pink polka manicure set as a thank you for coming.

Planning a lingerie shower is not as hard as you think. With the right planning and creative ideas, you can create a lingerie party that everyone will remember.
