How To Shop For Eyeglasses That Match Your Colors

Picking out a pair of eyeglasses is not really a simple process.  You want them to be a great accessory that sits well on your face.  You need to take care that they will frame your eyes well, and that they actually become something that displays your personality while also not hiding the beauty of your face.  You need to be honest with yourself about the fact that your eyeglasses are often the first thing that people will notice on your face, and that makes it doubly important to be sure that your frames compliment your coloring and face shape.

In terms of finding a good set of frames for your face you will want to look for a pair of eyeglasses or reading glasses that has the opposite shape of your face.  Using a shape that contradicts your features will actually make those features stand out better.  Additionally, you need to take care to chose a pair of eyeglasses that are proportionally right for your face.  You do not want your frames to be either too large or too small for your face as then they will look misplaced. To do this, look for a frame that is about as wide as your face.

Another factor to take into consideration, and probably the most fun consideration is what color you want your eyeglass frames to be. Both plastic and metal reading glasses or eyeglasses are now available in a variety of colors and tints. The drawback is, there are so many colors on the market that it can be difficult to navigate them all. A good rule of thumb is to try to coordinate your eyeglass frames with your hair color.  So what colors look best with your hair color?

Brunette
For luscious brunets you will want to choose colors that also have the same rich undertones. Burgundy or deep chocolate frames.  These will create depth and richness to your appearance.  Or if you are looking for a more natural look tortoiseshell frames are always a great classic choice for brunettes.

Redheads
For fiery red hair you will also want to choose warmer toned frames, but that is not where your fun can end. In fact most colors will really complement redheads, but you will want to absolutely steer clear of anything yellow.  Those frames can actually really negatively affect your skin tone.

Blond
Blonds can have lots of fun with their eyeglass frames.  Of course they can choose neutral colors, but they also have the option of choosing lighter frames. White and clear eyeglasses can really make your features pop.

Black
For those who have really dark black hair you will want to stay away from lighter glasses, and instead embrace darker frames.  There really is not a limit in colors beyond that, but you do want to stay within colors that have some depth and pigment to them. This holds true for both womens and mens reading glasses as well as regular eyeglasses and sunglasses.

Silver
Silver foxes will want to add color and pop with their eyeglasses.  You can really choose any color that you like, but you will want to steer clear of traditional tortoise shell glasses, and yellow is not necessarily your friend.  Instead, have fun with purple, pinks, reds, blues, and greens. Many eyeglasses manufacturers, such as clic reading glasses, eyebobs, and seeqa are known for fun bright and bold colors, perfect to match your hair color.

You know your hair color and now you know exactly which color of eyeglasses will go best with your look. Have fun and look great in your glasses.
